Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers in Lincoln
What to Expect:
During the procedure.
Firstly, your practitioner will remove any makeup, they will then apply topical anaesthetic to the area to be treated and leave this for about 20-30 minutes. The procedure uses a fine needle or cannula to reduce any discomfort.
Immediately after the procedure
You will experience mild to moderate inflammation, more noticeable with lips. Some of this volume is created by the filler, but there could be additional swelling resulting from the skin’s inflammatory response and wound healing. As the topical anaesthetic wears off it is normal to feel discomfort, a cold compress will reduce swelling and if extreme your practitioner may recommend antihistamine.
The days following the procedure
Any swelling caused by inflammation will subside, and the dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) and its absorption of water, should reach equilibrium.
The Image
Dermal filler (hyaluronic acid) has been used to restore volume in the peri-oral lines, vermillion border, and oral commissures. The images represent immediate results post-procedure and will last between 12 and 18 months.
The image shows the client’s loss of volume in the sub-orbital region, otherwise known as the ‘tear trough’. This is a challenging procedure to get just right, and depends very much on the client’s presentation, and the practitioner’s technique, expertise, qualifications and choice of filler. As with ALL injectable procedures, planning ahead before an event will allow time for complete healing of any associated bruising and post-procedure inflammation.
